Fun With Buckley

Meet Buckley

Buckley met Stuart in 2009 and the two clicked instantly. The British golden retriever was still very young when his proclivity for therapy work surfaced. He quickly proved a deep understanding of how to connect with people; it is a skill which can’t be taught. When he was four he received his Good Citizen and Community Canine designations and officially started work visiting nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

It was after a time working in this capacity that Stuart realized Buckley’s talents were being underutilized. That’s why the team switched roles. Now they visit patients in hospice as well and spend much more time with each patient. Buckley enjoys cuddling up to patients and sometimes even chooses specific toys to present them with upon his visits. With 4 years and 450 hours logged visiting with patients, he is definitely making the most of his seconds.
